WIT win a National Wedding Industry Award!

It’s impossible to find fault with World Inspired tents. From our initial contact with them, through negotiations, setting up and taking down it was a pleasure.

The office team who dealt with our order were amazing, answering all our naive and slightly panicky questions with thoughtfulness and infectious calmness. Access to our venue was challenging to everyone involved but World Inspired Tents just rocked up and cracked on with no fuss and with a palpable team spirit.

A company that has focused on the important stuff and and left out all the fake customer service crap you normally get. WELL DONE!”

Donna Wright (Finance director) Amy Collins (Event Manager) Lisa Tossell (Operations Manager) Nicola Cheney (Business Administrator).

Last month we were delighted to be crowned regional winner for ‘Best Marquee provider’ in The 2012 Wedding Industry Awards.  This regional win alone was fantastic.

The nomination came as a huge surprise to our team.  We only found out when an email arrived to tell us we had been nominated by a bride who used our tipis last summer. Thank you Katy Gower, without you we wouldn’t be writing this today!

Following some amazing feedback, lots of votes and some mind blowing comments, which made us burst with pride, we won the regional award!

On the 18th of January some of our team travelled up to London to the Wedding Industry National Awards ceremony which was held at the wonderful Cafe de Paris near Leicester Square.

It was a fabulous event, with free flowing bubbly, delicious canapés and exciting industry specialists all under one roof.

The competition was fierce and we were up against some strong marquee companies across the UK.  The impressive judging panel was made up of the likes of Miranda Easson, Editor You and Your Wedding, Annabel Beeforth, Sarah Haywood, Sassi Holford, Sandy Moretta, Peggy Porschen & Sarah Hewson, Sky News presenter and royal correspondent.

But name dropping aside the ceremony magnificently celebrated a very meaningful set of awards which recognised some excellent wedding suppliers within the industry.

A huge congratulations to every one who scooped a regional and national award. We’re absolutely delighted with our national win.  It’s a huge accolade for our company and recognises the efforts we put in to give every client the very best experience.

Some of the comments we received to win the award just blew us away.  We’re not sure who they’re all from because it’s anonymous but thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for us.

We’re returning to Darts Farm Village for our spring open weekend!

We’re delighted to say the lovely people at Darts Farm want to have us back for our spring open weekend in March.

We’ll be showing off our stunning tipis on the 24th-25th March at Darts Farm, near Exeter.  Click here for directions.

Throughout the weekend we’ll be exhibiting three of our Giant Hat tipis joined together with our smaller Cirrus 40 tipi.  The tipis will be kitted out in true ‘World Inspired’ style, with pine wood tables and benches, round tables and chairs, chill out furnishings, open log fires and lots of other lovely things!

The weekend will give you the chance to see our tipis up, meet our dedicated team and enable you to imagine what a ‘World Inspired’ wedding or event could be like.

Our autumn weekend was a huge success, with some really fabulous exhibitors joining us in the tipis for the weekend.  This spring, we hope to make it even better and we’ll be getting together with some more amazing suppliers and industry friends to bring you a really interesting and exciting weekend.  Watch this space!

Please get in touch to make an appointment with one of our team during the weekend.  Call our office (01271 865306) or contact us here

Festive wishes!

With only two days to go, it’s time to wish you all a very happy festive period.

The World Inspired HQ has had a fantastic year, with so many memorable weddings and events.  Thank you to everyone who booked us this year!

We’re really looking forward to 2012.  It’s going to be a busy year with lots more fabulous weddings, events, and of course the Olympics!

To all our excited tipi couples, we can’t wait for 2012. To all our lovely suppliers and friends, thank you for all your support in 2011.

A Merry Christmas from us all and a very happy 2012.  Here’s a few shots from the summer, enjoy!

Tipis and River Cottage go so well together.

Last year River Cottage phoned us up to enquire about the hire of our tipis and our pine wood furniture.  Every year Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall has a summer party at the River Cottage HQ.  It certainly looks like a fab occassion, lots of food, wine and merriment.  Last year we provided our beautiful pine wood tables and benches for the occasion.

Following this we decided we could do more with River Cottage, so we headed off to the beautiful valley in Axminster to meet up with the team.  We talked about our ideas, we told them our story and we wowed them with our tipis.  As we talked more it became clear that we shared many similar environmental and ethical beliefs not simply about recycling or providing good value, for us it is about trying our hardest to be environmentally considerate.  It’s also about honesty, integrity and transparency for our customers.

River Cottage choose who they make links with very carefully and that’s why we were so proud to be chosen as one of only two preferred marquee suppliers at the River Cottage HQ.

We left River Cottage that day feeling really excited about working with them in the future.

This summer saw our tipis get to Park Farm for the first time for a wonderful wedding. Thank you Amy and Andy for combining tipis and River Cottage!  Thank you also to Jennie Hill Photography for capturing the day perfectly.

Here’s to many more River Cottage visits!

We Won!

As you may or may not know, we were nominated for an award last month.  There are quite a few award schemes out there but the unique thing about The 2012 Wedding Industry Awards is that the bride, or groom has to nominate the supplier. Naturally this means more to us than simply nominating ourselves.

A lovely bride called Katy Gower used our tipis in September this year for her wedding in Okehampton, Devon.  They had a beautiful ceremony in one Giant Hat followed by a huge party in three Giant Hats overlooking the rolling hills of the Devon Countryside.  We knew they had a fab time but we didn’t know she had nominated us until an email pinged in from the awards website.

We were nominated for the ‘best marquee supplier‘ in the South West region.  This in itself made us extremely proud, and so we set about spreading the word and asking past couples who had used our tipis to vote for us.

We received a huge amount of votes, so thank you to everyone who voted for us.

The news came in over the weekend and having been shortlisted for the award we’re delighted to say we’re now a regional winner for the ‘best marquee supplier’ in the whole of the South West.

We know we give our customers a fantastic service but it’s always great to receive such super credit for what we do.

We go to London on the 18th of January to find out if our regional award will transcend into a national award, fingers crossed, we’ll keep you posted!

This is why we do what we do…

We specialise in the hire of Giant Hat tipis, you know that.  But we don’t just take your booking, drive to your venue, set them up and go, no no, we do much more than that.

You are important to us, every single one of you.  Sometimes we spend months talking, collaborating, planning and helping you decide on exactly the right details to ensure you get THE best day.  Our service doesn’t end there, the crew who arrive on site are so excited to hear your gasps of amazement as the tipis go up.  They love listening to the ‘wows’ and the ‘ohhhs’ and ‘ahhhs’ as friends, bridemaids and mother in laws and grannies alike are all stunned by the finished product.

We do more than just set-up tipis, we believe in giving you the most memorable experience from first contact to the end result and receiving thanks like this recent email just reaffirms why we do what we do.

“The dust has settled now and Stocklinch has returned to what passes for normal. I can’t thank you and your team enough for playing such a central and important role in making Steff and Phil’s day so outstandingly memorable and enjoyable.

The tipis were inspirational and the atmosphere was magical. They were impressive, unusual, warm, atmospheric, just marvellous. But it was your level of service that really counted for making our job as parents of the bride so relaxed and enjoyable. Your own role was key, it working out all the detail, being so responsive to all our last minute changes and being so efficient and yet friendly. Thanks.

The team who came to Stocklinch were undoubtedly at the top of their game. From my past in the services, I recognised a team that were close knit and very professional as soon as they started work. They were very friendly but also very efficient. I particularly noticed their attention to detail, the way ropes were tied off for instance. I can’t thank you and all who came to Stocklinch enough.

You were superb and I’d have no hesitation in recommending you again. Indeed a couple planning their wedding stopped by the field and we spoke to them and said they couldn’t go wrong with you and your tipis.” Stephen and Kate, 2011.

Thank you.

We had a great time in our tipis last weekend.  It’s not often we get to spend time in the lovely structures, so our Open Weekend was a great opportunity.

The tipis looked absolutely stunning (if we do say so ourselves), and our lovely friends did some really special things inside them to add a touch of glamour, sparkle and intrigue.

The lovely Jan and Alex at Devon Vintage China hand-made exclusive white linen and lace bunting and hung it up in our tipis.  It really was exquisite and we had so many lovely comments about it.  They can make whatever colours you like, box it up and courier it to your wedding venue, what a great service!

Juicy Lucy Cupcakes made some exceptional looking cakes, cupcakes and cake pops.  I think all of our visitors were in awe of the beautiful looking treats and throughout the weekend Lucy offered some delicious bite size tasters, which I certainly enjoyed.  Yum thank you Lucy.

Our lovely friends at Dartmoor Kitchen came along for the weekend to talk to visitors about their fabulous catering options.  Some visitors were lucky enough to leave with an award winning pie, which is a great idea for an evening wedding snack.  Thank you guys, we love your food!

The lovely Joanna Game Flowers provided some beautiful, seasonal flower arrangements.  She hung a gorgeous circular garland from the middle of our tipis.  It was made with so many vibrant colours it almost didn’t look real!  Having worked in our tipis quite a few times, Joanna knows exactly how to finish the tipis beautifully with local, seasonal flowers.

Our lovely friends at WED magazine popped in and dropped off loads of copies of their fantastic publication.  So many couples over the weekend took a copy and probably poured over the pages on the way home.  We love Wed magazine, you must check it out if you’re planning a wedding.

Sarah Lauren Photography joined us to showcase their fabulous wedding books, packed full to the brim of quality, inspiring weddings shots.  It was lovely to have Sarah and Chloe in our tipis and we’ll share some of their fab shots with you soon.

Thank you so much to all the lovely people who came to visit us over the weekend, it was so good to meet you all and talk tipis!  Now we better start planning the next open weekend.

A sunny tipi wedding in Paignton

Wedding couples really lucked out last week when the temperatures soared into the high twenties.

Our lovely couple Fritha and Adam, married in Paignton (joined by their very photogenic dogs) followed by a tipi reception at home.  The sun was shining and Sarah Lauren Photography really captured the detail of the day.  Here are a few of her amazing shots, enjoy.

Their dogs looked like they enjoyed the service!
Our twinkling Festoon lights really made an impression when the sun eventually went down.
