Essential Information
We try to make the process leading up to your event as easy and enjoyable as possible, we hope the following information helps with this.
Flame Resistance
Each of our tipis carries a manufacturers flame resistant certificate, in accordance with our insurers requirements. This certificate is valid for 3 years from when the tent was manufactured. We replace our tents every three years to conform to this certification. IMPORTANT NOTE: Be very wary of hiring a tipi from company without flame resistant certification. You may well be un-insured as a result! If you have doubts ask to see their flame resistance certification.
Emergency Exits
There are two exits on opposite sides of each tent, which can be used as emergency exits. When multiple Kåtas are joined together provision is made to make sure these exits are useable. It is the client responsibility to make sure that the emergency exits are not obstructed at any time.
Fires
The tipis are designed to accommodate an open fire, but only using one of our specially designed Bamse fireplaces. During a period of hire we do not permit a fire to be lit in the Kåta using anything but the fireplace we supply. We supply a fire extinguisher, next to the fireplace. As with any open fire, do not leave it unattended. We also require that someone is responsible for the fire whilst it is lit.
Site location
Each Kåta requires a level pitch 14 meters in diameter, free from overhead trees, power lines and other obstructions. The ground must allow for metal stakes to be driven in, in order to provide a safe and secure anchorage of the Kåta.
Health and Safety Regulations
Some events require authorisation from authorities, including the Health & Safety Executive and local Fire Service. Where necessary the client takes full responsibility for such authorisation .
Upon request, World Inspired Tents will happily supply its full Health & Safety documentation, including comprehensive risk assessments and method statements.
Insurance
With our tents and equipment adding up to many tens of thousands of pounds it is essential that the equipment is fully insured during the period of hire.
It is possible for the client to insure the tents and equipment themselves, through standard wedding / event insurance. However, this can be time consuming and costly.
As a cost effective and convenient alternative to arranging your own insurance, you can choose to pay our Damage Waiver Fee, amounting to 3% of the equipment hire charge. By doing so we at World Inspired Tents take full responsibility for the risk of accidental loss or damage to the equipment during the hire period. This is done through our own insurance.
