The Giant Hat Kåta

Our Giant Hat Kåtas are truly amazing. Not only beautiful, strong and completely waterproof, they are also extremely versatile. Any number of Giant Hat's can be joined together to create one single covered space. Each Giant Hat comprises of nine poles to form a nonagon. With its sides down, a single Giant Hat covers 10.3 metres (34') in diameter, capable of seating 70 guests. However, it can be pitched with some or all of its sides up, increasing the diameter to 13 metres (42') with seating capacity for up to 120 people.


Because of the tipi shape and a smoke hole at the top*, the Giant Hat can accommodate an open fire. We can provide a raised fireplace called a Bamse Max, which can also be used for cooking. We can equip each Kåta with carpets, furniture, lighting and accessories to create an amazing venue.

* When not being used, the smoke hole can be closed, to seal the Kåta from the elements.
