Being at the wood everyday had made us really appreciate the natural beauty of our surroundings. The wildlife which lives in the 80 acre ancient woodland is where found the inspiration for the woodland/rustic theme for our wedding.
We wanted to make the wedding to feel in touch with nature, keeping everything as rustic as possible and using the natural elements of the wood where we could.
The tipis just looked perfect in the woods, like they were made for a woodland setting.
Sebastian is brilliant with wood craft so he made us all our centre pieces from wooden trunks, he drilled holes in them then created mini trees which sat in the middle of the tables and tri pods which then the bridesmaid flowers would sit in after they had finished using them, which meant they were recycled, becoming centrepieces.
We cut slices of wood for our table names and wrote on them all, and wrapped all our napkins individually with cinnamon sticks and some greenery. The tables were all different woodland animals which we have in the woodland to keep in theme of the natural beauty of the woods.
Signs were made from old pallets and pieces of wood which we had hanging around and recycled and our bar was made from scratch cladded with larch and a beautiful oak top which was fallen from the winter.
The whole day was amazing start to end!
