Tipis, teepees, kåtas… people often ask if there is a right or wrong name. The answer is no, there isn’t a right or wrong name and it doesn’t matter what you call them. Whether you are planning a teepee wedding, a tipi wedding or a kåta event, you have come to the right place!
The word kåta (pronounced koorta) comes from the Sami people of northern Europe. It describes the cone shaped structure that they used for warmth in the winter and to keep cool in the summer. It is this historic structure that inspired the tipis (or teepees) that we use today at World Inspired Tents, which are manufactured in Sweden by Tentipi AB.
Tentipi have combined the historic Sami kåta structure with modern manufacturing techniques to create these beautiful event tipis. They have spent the last 29 years developing and refining their products to create the super versatile and robust structures we use today. Tentipi tell their story here.
Thanks to the diligent team at Tentipi we are able to offer you lovely folks the very best quality event tipis. Or teepees. Whichever you prefer.
